Over 70 Years of Combined Experience
If your application for SSDI or SSI benefits has been denied, the attorney you choose is important. An experienced attorney may be better equipped to take the correct strategic approach in your case.
The right approach may increase your chances of success and could even speed up the process of receiving benefits. Our attorneys, Lawrence A. Meyerson and Louis Galinsky, have more than 70 years of combined legal experience.
Attorney Lawrence Meyerson handles the majority of our SSDI and SSI cases. He has more than 35 years of experience in Social Security Disability claims and has personally handled thousands of SSDI/SSI cases. He is a caring attorney who is deeply committed to the clients he serves. Our firm aggressively pursues benefits and we are extremely loyal to the people we represent.
SSDI vs. SSI
We handle both SSDI and SSI cases. Social Security Disability Insurance is a form of government benefit that people are eligible to receive if they have suffered a physical or mental disability that severely limits their ability to work.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a form of benefit available to people who have minimum assets and earn a minimum income. To be eligible for SSI benefits, you must not have more than $2,000 in assets. However, certain assets do not count toward the $2,000 asset cap. We can discuss this matter further at your appointment.
Efficiency is our Objective
The biggest dilemma facing people who need SSDI benefits is the long waiting list for an administrative hearing. There is currently a two-year waiting period from the time you request a hearing until the time the hearing is held.
To expedite the process, attorney Meyerson will perform a careful review of the case to determine if it is possible to obtain benefits without a hearing. If he believes that a client has a good chance of getting benefits without a hearing, he will submit an on-the-record request and lay out the facts to support getting benefits without a hearing.
Respected in the Legal Community
Owing to his experience and proven success in Social Security matters, attorney Lawrence Meyerson has been asked twice to work as an administrative law judge for Social Security cases. He declined respectfully out of a desire to give his clients the time and attention they deserve.
